![]() ![]() I really like cooking, but I don't like all of the clean up time when it comes to washing dishes and other products. The handle is sturdy and comfortable to use. ![]() Since the blades are plastic the utensil can be used in nonstick skillets with no damage to the skillet. The blades do a great job of chopping the meat in the skillet. The blades show no damage from the heat of the skillet. It is made of heavy duty plastic and will last a long time. It looks a good as the day I first go it. I just rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher. It is well worth the price and is one of the handiest utensils I have. It is particularly useful if you buy your ground beef in the plastic rolls since the meat tends to stick together when it is cooked. It is particularly good a breaking up ground beef for tacos, sloppy joes, chili, etc. It does a fabulous job of breaking up meat when you are cooking it. True One of my favorite Pampered Chef products. I use mine often and so far it has lasted several years. Those crevices with trapped meat are the only cleaning issue for me. I like the finished product (finely ground, evenly-cooked beef) that I am willing to remove some meat with my fingers or a fork while it's cooking, and scrape it down before washing. There are ways around this (scrape the meat off before washing, or just handwash the tool), so it isn't a big enough issue to make me stop using it. And while this product can be washed in the dishwasher, mine will often come out with some of that trapped meat still in there. Now for the flaw: The raw meat often gets stuck in the crevices, forcing me to either 1) dig it out with my fingers or a utensil while cooking, or 2) leave it there and lose some of the meat in the process. I can twist and turn the blades with ease as I chop the meat while it cooks on the stovetop. The nylon material used on this tool prevents it from scratching the pan, and the handle has a comfortable grip. I think it takes a lot less effort and dexterity than using a wooden spoon. It's my favorite way to chop meat for tacos. It is a wonderful tool for chopping ground beef really finely while cooking. One-year guarantee for noncommercial use.Cut long foods, such as zucchini and cucumbers, into 2½" (6-cm) lengths before placing vertically in Food Holder.Slice two to three small vegetables, such as radishes, at a time by inserting onto prongs, space food for best fit.For larger foods, cut in half and slice cut-side down. For round fruits or vegetables such as tomatoes, potatoes or beets, use a knife to cut off a small portion to create a flat end.For best slicing results, foods should be firm.To store, place Slider on track to cover blade.To reassemble Food Holder, turn upside down, aligning holes on plate with prongs.Plate, holder and knob will separate (see Illustration 4). Holding Food Holder upside down so knob falls downward, position thumb on center of plate. Disassemble Food Holder by lifting out of Slider.Never hand wash blade with a sponge or dishcloth. Any remaining food can be removed from blade with a kitchen brush. As you reach end portion of food, a very small amount may not be sliced discard. Repeat until desired quantity of slices are cut or food is gone. Applying steady pressure to knob, move Slider in a continuous downward and upward motion over blade.Choose desired "use" position - either held by handle, resting nonskid feet on flat surface at an angle or over a bowl, aligning grooves with top of bowl.Always use Food Holder and Slider together when slicing. To begin slicing, lift Food Holder from Slider and push food into prongs.See "Tips and Techniques" section below for additional tips on prepping food for holder.
